E-cards

Introducing E-cards for Driver’s Education!

It has been a long time in development, but the MN Department of Public Safety has launched the new e-card. Students and parents will no longer need to keep track of blue and white cards. Unfortunately, those of you who have already received your blue or white cards will still need to bring them to your testing appointments.

How the E-card System Works

  • After you have completed classroom or behind-the-wheel instruction, we log into the state system and notify them that you have completed the course.
  • The e-card system will send an email confirmation to the student's email address.
    • They will only send the confirmation email to one address. Please make sure that the email information in your student center is accurate.
    • Please make sure that your email account storage is not full. The confirmation email will only be sent once.
  • When you arrive at the testing center, they will already have your completion certificate.
    • You are not required to bring a copy of this certificate to your appointment, but the MN DPS encourages you to do so.

Allow Time for us to Enter the E-card Data

We will enter course completion data once each morning, excluding weekends, holidays, and any time our office is closed. For this reason, please do not schedule your written knowledge exam or road test within two business days of completing your course.

E-cards for Adult Students

The e-card will not be issued for people over 18 or for the reinstatement of driving privileges. We will continue with the current system, issuing certificates of completion when the court or DPS requires proof of course completion for driving privilege reinstatement.
